FamilyExercise

Mommy is trying to get 'back in shape.' As much shape as she can get in at 'her age.' But, she figures that 17 months after Zachy was born, it's time to shed that twenty that hung onto after having him. So, Momma has been working hard. Eating right. And exercising. Luckily, you guys, Mackenzie and Zachy, are pretty cooperative. Zachy loves the pack n play, so I don't feel guilty about putting him there a few times a week for thirty minutes while I do the treadmill and, let's face it, what better opportunity to let Mackenzie catch an episode of her favorite, Olivia (loveLoveLOVE DVR's!).

Today I decided to do a little 10 minute leg video after the treadmill. Released Zachy from the pack n play and just figured I'd see what happens. Mackenzie enjoys doing these along with me, so she's always game.

Our conversation went something like this:

Mackenzie: Why we doing this one?
Momma: This exercise is good for our inner thighs.
Mackenzie: Where our inner thighs Momma?
(Momma points)
Mackenzie: By our bum bum.
Momma: Yes, sort of.
(Enter Zachy who starts trying to do squats too while laughing).
Mackenzie: What we doing now Momma?
Momma: Lifting our heals.
Mackenzie: Where our heals?
Momma: On our feet.
Mackenzie: This one's tricky! Why we do this?
Momma: To work on our balance.
Mackenzie: Where our balance Momma?
Momma: It's what we do when we are on one foot. (Lame answer, I know.)
(Enter Zachy who tries to kick his foot forward with a bottle hanging out of his mouth AND laughing).
Mackenzie: When we use the ball (pilates ball)?
Momma: Not on this video. Maybe later.
(Mackenzie gets her ball anyways.)
Mackenzie: Look at Me! (Doing pilates exercises she has learned. Way to go!)

Moving on to the floor...Starting with Bicycles on one side...

Mackenzie (laughing): That NOT bicycle! This is (On her back doing both feet. Smartie pants!)

Our session ended up with RufusDog joining in and licking my face with his 'sweet' dog breath. Oh, Joy.
